This is an eye-opening documentary by Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite, following the controversial captivity of killer whales.
I too have experienced the excitement of watching a 8000 orca or “killer Whale” fly through the air at Sea World, always in perfect harmony with their trainers. One day a few years ago as I was visiting Sea World in San Diego I told myself NO MORE! Nothing in particular had happened, kids were happy and everything was “normal”… I just felt a hard sting in my heart… feeling I was wrong to be there, supporting this horrible and cruel treatment of these huge majestic mammals. I felt bad to my stomach for not realizing this sooner. Never again did I, nor will I set foot at Sea World or any other similar oceanarium again. Why?
Because a lot of the whales have been locked up in a place no bigger than a bath tub for over four decades, in dark and horrible small areas, being punished for misbehaviour. Of course accidents would happen sooner later. And they did… many times. You will see how nature gets revenge on man when pushed to its limits. The Sea World killer whale is responsible for the death of three individuals already. But Sea World told the public a different story. Hear and see the shocking never-before-seen stories and footage of many workers and trainers who were misled for many years from the highly profitable sea-park industry.
Please watch it, show your kids, share it, think about it! A lot of people do care, but have no clue of how these animals are treated and what they feel. These are highly intelligent and enormously sentient fellow mammals and they deserve to be free! Protest to these animals being captured, caged, displayed mistreated and tortured. Watch the movie and tell me here what you thought of it. Available on Netflix!
