295234_109224039226770_484624049_n I just lost a friend :( His name is Ludde Lindström – We all held on to the hope that he would beat his cancer, or at least gain a few more years. He wanted more time with his beloved 13-year-old son Oliver. But lost his battle and passed away a few days ago, on friday february 6. His best friend Nille Tholinder whom I kept close contact with, had called me the day before to tell me that Ludde now was unconscious… to sort of prepare me. I also sent Ludde a text message a few days before he passed away… I knew that he couldn’t read it, that he was to ill, but I felt like sending him a last big hug.

Ludde - Tio LivLudde was always somehow integrated in my life from time to time. Even when his soul seemed troubled and filled with anxiety over something, he always opened his heart and gave me the time of day. Business, relationships, music, politics, sports, women… etc. He had a genuine interest to listen and communicate. He was fun to hang out with too. His love for music, cats, A.I.K (Swedish football team), the color purple… the true interest in da rock biz. One thing he would not forget and understand was my complete un-interest in the his favorite band The Rolling Stones. He said I would learn when I grew up… Yes, maybe I will my friend :) He also always had lots of ideas for business. Good entrepreneur skills even if things didn’t always turn out the way he wanted them to. But at least he never gave up. He always fought and did everything to bring his ideas to life. Like the idea about writing a book about the not so entirely pleasant journey behind the scenes of the entertainment and restaurant business. The backside of beauty with threats, drugs, sex, money and violence – Tio Liv.

Tallee-KoolKat-PressBut for me Ludde’s interaction in my life was pretty much the same way as for many other people in Stockholm. Being the driving force and prominent figure behind the legendary Kool Kat Club – The no 1 rock club and a very important place and era for the majority of rockers back in the mid 80’s until mid 90’s here in Stockholm, Sweden. Together with his brother in arms Nille, he brought the club to success. And to me, and a lot of other friends, Kool Kat felt like home, from the day it opened on Kungsgatan back in 1986. This was the Mecka of rock’n’roll where I believe a lot of people perhaps had the most enjoyable period when it comes to Stockholm’s nightlife, where you could just chill and/or party and discuss the latest in the Rock and Metal scene. Famous and upcoming bands performed there as well. The place grew in popularity every year, hitting it’s peak in 88’-90, I believe, when moving in to Strömsborg Mansion in Gamla Stan (Old Town). The club was amazing; Huge with red carpets everywhere, crystal chandeliers, two dance floors, the best Dj’s. Maximum luxury with a long line of people patiently waiting to get in. This was the Rock Castle and the place for all Kool Kats to hang out. And I did! So often that Ludde finally said – You are here so often that I think I might as well hire you to work for me :) So I became his secretary in 1992 and I helped him and Michael Wiberg with the release of their new magazine Kool Kat News.

In 1993 Kool Kat moved to a new place on Strandvägen – Dixie Queen – a huge Mississippi style steamroller moored in central Stockholm. Right before the time when grunge music killed it all. The fun, the colorful, the positive, the happy era of Hardrock came to an end.. or so we thought. Ludde would talk about this often… it made it hard for Kool Kat to continue, at least with the same spirit as before. But I got one last thing out of the ending era of Kool Kat. I met my husband Mattias at Dixie Queen in march 1993. Ludde called me the day after and wondered who the lucky prince was and I told him it was one I intended to keep :) No courting and no dating <3 . We fell in love from the first second and became a couple at Kool Kat 22 years ago. Ludde found this to be both incomprehensible and hilarious. Our last long conversations where about his son Oliver. How much he loves him and how much he wanted to keep fighting to recover and be there for him. He was so utterly happy about coming to take photos in my studio with his son but the same day that we had arrangements for this, he sadly got very ill and taken to the hospital and never really recovered. He left earth life two months after, with his friend Nille holding his hand and to the song Lady Jane by The Rollings Stones. At ease and in peace! For me this means an era has passed on.

I’d like to say that I miss him and that he made a substantial effect both for me and for many others I think. He had a wonderful laugh and was full of energy. He was real fighter and he will not be forgotten. My love and sympathies to his family and other friends, but most of all his son Oliver <3

In a wink it was gone! Now it’s only one year until next time. I really can’t complain though as my chilean/american christmas lasts for three beautiful days. Same procedure as every year. Only this year we were 18 people, one more person with my sister Violeta’s and Roger’s baby Yindi Lo. It was nice, time of peace and good cheer with all political talk left aside (this year). It’s not easy being the chatelaine I tell you, it takes me a few weeks to prepare everything and when everybody leaves after three days I look like a troll doll (penntroll). The house is now quiet and as I sit in front of the fireplace relaxing, I do find myself missing everybody. I really LOVE having my big family around me <3

tallee-signI hope you all had a marvelous, wonderful, restful Christmas too. Here are some photos I took while doing our christmas photo sessions. First out is my daughter Adina.

She dresses like a man like a woman! Model “Just Jaz” can really pull anything off… in every sense of the word. Beautiful, interesting and “spartanicly” outspoken. if she has anything to say about any matter… She will. Best of all, Jazz is always up to my crazy ideas ;) … and those never dry out.

MOONLIGHT WARRIOR

A project that I put together with Jan Monsen. A fabulous photographer and graphic designer out of Norway. I am meeting him and his lovely girlfriend Sussi again in September for a more pin-upish session : )
Thanks to Mattias for helping me out with the tattoo make up, not so easy to do on your own arm. HEY… maybe I should get a permanent tattoo like this.

The jewelry I am wearing are from Khan El-Khalili in Egypt. The most historical bazaar in the world, established in 1382 and responsible for explorers such as Columbus to trade goods from east
to west. Unfortunately it is not a very good place to go to these days, I know : ( But things will eventually settle down in Egypt. So if you ever travel there, don’t miss out on this very exotic, intoxicating and overwhelming, exiting bazaar.

My Tribute to Charlie Chaplin (Yes, it’s ME!)

Posted in Make Up - Savage Beauty, Model 40, Movies, Savage Beauty Photography with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 25, 2011 by Tallee Savage

When I was a little girl I used to watch Charlie Chaplin movies together with my grandfather. He brought so many laughter to me as the “Little Tramp”. He is one of the film actors I admire the most from the early classical Hollywood era. And I still love him,  because he wanted to bring about a radical change in contemporary society where he saw the misery of exploited people. You can see this throughout all his films, how the Little Tramp communicates the message of human freedom and always has a positive outlook on life in a world full of chaos.

Charlies personal life and career was full of scandals and controversy. His childhood has the type of deprived childhood that one would expect in a Dickens novel. Still after huge success he had an “un-millionaire” way of living and I quote his words “The saddest thing I can imagine is to get used to luxury”.

In the 1950’s Charlie was scrutinized for his support in aiding the Russian struggle against the invading Nazis during World War II, and the U.S government questioned his moral and political views, suspecting him to having communist ties. In 1952 when he traveled home to England for the premier of “Lime Light”, he was denied reëntry o the United States. The goverment had no evidence to prove that he was a threat to national security. Now, talk about paranoia : (

I think that without Charlie Chaplin, movies would not be as big as they are today. He was not just “bigger ” than anybody, he was gigantic and I think it is doubtful if any other individual has ever given more entertainment, pleasure and relief to so many human beings…specialy when they needed it the most through Wold War I , The great depression and the rise of Hitler. It came natural to him to lash out both imperialism and Fascism… but carrying out his mission he would always put on the costume of a “clown”.

Now and then my whole family sits down in front of the TV and we have a Charlie Chaplin weekend. Some classics are: “The Kid”, “The Gold Rush”, “City Lights”, “The great Dictator “, “Limelight”

This photo session here is my way of showing my admiration for Charlie Chaplin. Yes, it is actually me in the pictures, he, he, he. I feel a complete and utter amazement at the genius of this great man. To me his gift is immeasurable and timeless and his legacy will be enjoyed forever.

A little something I wrote about Charlie in Swedish.

Men min favorit är nog “Chaplins pojke = The kid” och” The Gold Rush”

My grandfather Onofre and I in Santiago, Chile, 1972. One of my biggest role models and inspiration in life.

The authentic Charlie below:

Here you can watch some scenes from Charlie Chaplin’s movies:

This scene chokes my heart and makes me cry every single time. The music he wrote was also very emotional and powerful.

And what about this scene, doesn’t it make you smile?

My Abbey Road / Ministry of silly walks

One of my favourite bands of all times is The Beatles. How can anybody Not like them? I think It’s actually, scientifically incorrect for anyone to say that they don’t love the Beatles. I mean, come on, there are lots of reasons why they are the greatest band ever. They were ground-breaking pioneers, no doubt, and these four guys made the greatest most exciting sound ever.  It is no surprise that they have sold over 1 billion records to date… That’s billion with a B. Besides “Helter Skelter” and “I Want You (She’s so Heavy” are considered two of the first heavy metal songs ; )

My favorite Beatle was always John Lennon. He revealed a rebellious nature in his writing and became very controversial through his political activism. His criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt to deport him by Richard Nixon’s administration. I have read numerous books about him and loved the fact that he made his point very clear and is still today in memory a leader in efforts to reach world peace.

“Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.”

Hey… look at this, The Simpsons has also made tribute to this amazing album.
Pics of me are taken by photographer Göran Magnusson and the original background image is of course shot by scottish photographer Iain Macmillan. Mattias Savage Wilmenius did the photo manipulation.

This picture of me is from the Abbey Road album. A historical street to date. Checking out my poses I can’t stop laughing about the resemblance with Monty Python’s, John Cleese, in the sketch “Ministry of silly walks”. Check this out (click the image below) if you have not seen it. It’s hilarious.
