A session with Fine Art Nude model Jasmine Sundström. A girl with many passions, but what I like the most about her is her bright and joyful way of seeing life in general. Always conducting interesting debates, open-minded and eager to learn. Extremely easy to work with too.  Here is a previous session from last year if you’d like to check that out as well. “Androgyny Fashion

We had an Easter dinner with both sides of the family (24 people). Conveniently on the same date as my daughter Adina turned 17 years old (Selfie pic below).

Lots of vegetarian food. No, we don’t care about the traditional easter foods. We eat whatever comes to mind that day. My contribution this year was a vegetarian coconut milk stew with spinach and chickpeas and vegetarian meatballs. It took me and my daughter Elizia hours to roll them and it was frustrating at first as they turned out square and flat before we got the hang of it. My son Tim’s Västerbotten’s cheese pie was undoubtedly and unanimously the most popular easter dish this year.

Adina and Elizia did the baking; Three cakes with little cute marzipan chickens … Goody!

Swedish Union Magazine for “Performing Arts and Film”

Posted in Make Up - Savage Beauty, Savage Beauty Photography with tags , , , , , , , , on March 20, 2014 by Tallee Savage

This is a photo session I did with my sister Amanda and her hubby Björn. The photos have been used for promotion of Independent Kostym who has the largest collection of costumes for professionals in Scandinavia.

The photo of my sister is now featuring on the cover of the latest issue of the Swedish Union Magazine for “Performing Arts and Film” (Teaterförbundet för scen och film) among other photos and projects we have done together and including a big interview with her. You can read how she and her colleagues work in a fabulous place that have dressed the Scandinavian Film and Theatre Industry since the 1930’s. How Independent kostym offers both rental and manufacturing of the costumes for film production, television, theatre and corporate events. With over 1,600 square meters in Stockholm. The staff has experience and knowledge on costume history and costume design and they are experts on realizing the ideas and visions brought upon them for all kinds of productions. Amanda tells you more about her work as a costumiere and life at Independent Kostym. It is in swedish folk… Thank God for Google Translate :D

Understanding women

Posted in Make Up - Savage Beauty, Model 40, Savage Beauty Photography with tags , , , on March 12, 2014 by Tallee Savage

“I don’t hang out with girls because they’re dramatic bitches. I prefer to hang out with guys”. Recognize that sentence? I do… that was the way I felt for many year when I was a girl. Girls could be so harsh, mean and jealous towards each other. While boys encouraged teamwork, girls saw trouble when playing more than two person at a time. Always leaving somebody out. Bickering, criticizing and talking behind each others backs. I never understood that :( So it just made it simpler for me to hang out with the boys. Climb trees and doing other exciting mischief. Over the years I have thought a lot about that. Wondering if maybe there is an unrealistic role and expectations set for girls. Instead of teaching them to work as a group to lift up and help each other. Women tend to have the need to look down on others of the same gender, while boys are taught to be strong, independent and self-confident.

I read somewhere: “Don’t try to understand women; women understand women, and they hate each other.” And honestly, I think the mentality and hatred for other females might come from within. It’s easy to hate one another if you are not content with yourself, I guess. I often hear chicks talk about others. Saying things like “Who does she think she is?” Negativity, judgemental, put-down mentality, criticizing, undermining, undercutting each other.. you name it! Thinly veiled jealousy when seeing other women stepping up an claiming a level of entitlement they can only dream of. An entitlement they either don’t know how to, or don’t feel entitled to claim for themselves. The uncomfortable truth is that some women still feel equivocal about other women’s success. Kicking away the latter rather than offer a hand to aspire. Instead of standing united, being positive and strengthen each other. I thought we were nurturing by nature. But I’ve noticed lots of times that’s not the case at all.

Anyway this does not apply to everyone of course. Just a general perception. But loving ourselves and loving each other is a very good thing. Be kind and generous and spread good vibes and energy. Support, help and encourage each other. And when you do find friends and colleagues who are supportive and understand you and have your best interest in mind – Hold on to them <3

tallee-signI had the pleasure of working with two lovely, beautiful, warm-hearted ladies last week, Sylvia Jansson and Maarit Psajd, while doing a photo shoot with them. I will show photos from that session in a few weeks. Sylvia has a new blog and she talks about this same topic. I’m humbled by the nice words she wrote about me. You can read it here >>>, but it is in Swedish folks ;)

Dave Leon

Posted in Bands & Artists, Savage Beauty Photography with tags , , , , , on September 10, 2013 by Tallee Savage

A musician and actor that I had the pleasure to work with. The day after we took this photos Dave moved to Hollywood to boost his career. Here he talks a little about me in the NYFA kickoff party in Hollywood  >> But it’s mighty crowded and loud and you can barely hear what he says. But I do appreciate the nice words and would also like to correct Dave on one part. The link to my homepage is www.savagebeauty.se, not. com ;)

Dave’s own words on his future plans: “Dave Leon is another way of saying “driven by passion”. Passion to self-expression which I always found in music. I’ve been always including performances when I play live, and trying to express myself not just through my compositions. Something I really like is to watch other people’s good work that are out of my craft and make them evolve. That’s why I got into film. It’s the total expression of human behavior, the internal processes when a musician writes his texts, that exact moment, it’s very important to me and that’s what I wanted to ultimately express.

I got in touch with another passion driven artist, Stephanie Ohlsson, who is a film writer and director and with just a few words we could see each other’s thoughts. We decided to create this fantastic story we called “The Stockholm Bloodbath” and make it into a feature film. We are breaking records on how fast and inexpensive you can make an impressive, smart and beautiful film. It’s a great project which we filmed in July and now is under post production in Los Angeles, where we both network and study at the New York Film Academy. We are finishing the post production  this year and present it to Festivals in 2014. At the same time I took another leading role in “Huldra: Lady of the Forest” which has been finished filming in Stockholm and will start post production mid October”.
